Jordan Summons Iran’s Embassy Charge d’Affaires Over Alleged Attacks

Doha: The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Charge d'Affaires of the Iranian Embassy on Sunday and handed him a strongly worded protest note over the continuous Iranian attacks that target Jordan.

According to Qatar News Agency, official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Fouad Al Majali, stressed that the Ministry demanded the Charge d'Affaires convey a note to his country to cease the attacks on Jordan immediately. Al Majali highlighted that Jordan's security and the safety of its citizens are a red line that cannot be crossed, along with stopping the incitement remarks.

Al Majali further clarified that the Ministry reaffirmed its denunciation of the Iranian attacks, which breach the nation's sovereignty, international law, and the UN Charter. He reemphasized that Jordan condemns the attacks targeting the nations of the GCC and stands by them in all measures they take to safeguard their sovereignty, security, and the safety of their citizens and residents.

In addition, Al Majali reiterated that Jordan will continue to take all available and essential steps to protect the safety of its citizens, as well as its security and sovereignty.
