Amman: King Abdullah II of Jordan held talks on Sunday in Amman with President of Finland Alexander Stubb on strengthening bilateral relations and the latest regional developments. During the meeting, King Abdullah II emphasized the critical importance of international cooperation, reaffirming Jordan's continued support for efforts to achieve peace in the region in coordination with partners, including Finland and the European Union.
According to Qatar News Agency, the discussions also highlighted the significance of the ceasefire between the United States and Iran as a step toward ending the ongoing war. King Abdullah II called for further measures to de-escalate tensions and enhance regional stability. He also accentuated the necessity for the ceasefire in Lebanon to lead to an end to Israeli aggression, enabling Lebanon to maintain its sovereignty and security.
Furthermore, King Abdullah II urged the international community to prevent any Israeli attempts to exploit the current situation in the region as a pretext for imposing a new reality in Jerusalem, Gaza, and the West Bank. He warned that such actions would undermine prospects for peace and risk dragging the region into prolonged conflict.
