Doha: Jordan and Syria held a security meeting focused on border management, combating drug trafficking, and facilitating the movement of goods and people between the two countries. The talks took place during a meeting between Jordan’s Interior Minister Mazen Faraya and his Syrian counterpart Anas Khattab, who is visiting Amman.
According to Qatar News Agency, Minister Faraya emphasized the importance of such meetings in enhancing bilateral cooperation and addressing challenges facing Syria. He highlighted ongoing coordination on drug control and efforts to resolve issues affecting the smooth flow of shipments and people.
Minister Khattab stressed the need for training Syrian security personnel and discussed signing memorandums of understanding with Jordan on police training, including female police officers, and sending officers for academic studies.
