Doha: Japan's Nikkei share average rose on Tuesday, buoyed by a weakening yen and as US President Donald Trump gave an additional three-week grace period for tariff negotiations. The benchmark 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rose 0.26% to close at 39,688.81, while the broader Topix index gained 0.17%.
According to Qatar News Agency, in currency markets, the US dollar strengthened by 0.09% against the yen, trading at 146.20. Meanwhile, the yield on 10-year Japanese government bonds (JGBs) climbed around 2 basis points to 1.488%.
