Israeli Occupation Refuses Visa Renewal for UN OCHA Head After Gaza Condemnation

Tel aviv: The Israeli occupation has opted not to extend the visa of Jonathan Whittall, the Head of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). This decision follows his condemnation of the Israeli entity's actions against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, particularly regarding the killing of individuals seeking food.

According to Qatar News Agency, Whittall criticized the Israeli entity on Sunday, describing the killing of starving Palestinians in Gaza as a "massacre" with the intent of "erasing Palestinians." He stated, "What we are witnessing is a massacre. Hunger is being used as a weapon. This is forced displacement. This is a death sentence for people who are simply trying to survive."

Whittall further elaborated that the actions he observed suggest a systematic approach aimed at eliminating Palestinian presence in Gaza. He described the situation as involving elements of genocide, including killings, starvation, and forced displacement, while international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) have been disregarded by the Israeli entity.

The conflict, ongoing since October 7, 2023, has resulted in significant casualties and suffering. Reports indicate that 200,000 Palestinians have been martyred or injured, with a majority being children and women. Additionally, over 9,000 individuals are missing, with hundreds of thousands displaced and a famine causing further loss of life.
