Israeli Occupation Detains Two in Hebron, Three Assaulted by Settlers in Jordan Valley

Hebron: Israeli occupation forces arrested two Palestinians on Saturday - including the head of a village council in Yatta, south of Hebron in the occupied West Bank - reflecting a constant pattern of targeted operations.

According to Qatar News Agency, the forces raided Wadi Al-Rakhim, west of Susiya in Yatta, and detained a Palestinian after he confronted settlers who had unleashed their livestock near his home. The Palestinian WAFA News Agency reported that the head of the Al-Zuweidin village council in the Yatta Badia area was also arrested. These actions have been criticized for failing to respect the legal judiciousness required in civilian areas.

In a related incident, three Palestinian youths were injured in an attack by settlers in the northern Jordan Valley. Medical sources stated that Palestine Red Crescent teams treated three assault cases during the settlers' attack in Al-Makhba, hospitalizing one and treating the other two onsite. This incident demonstrates both the settlers' violence and the Red Crescent's operational capacity in responding to urgent emergencies.

Earlier, Israeli forces seized several vehicles during a raid on Al-Lubban Al-Sharqi, south of Nablus, furthering the occupation's pattern of control through force. Meanwhile, settlers attacked residents of Qusra, south of Nablus, leading to clashes between the local population and the settlers. This escalation highlights both the settlers' aggression and the community's resistance.

Israeli attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank have escalated in recent months, with raids, arrests, and live-fire assaults on cities, towns, and villages increasing. This persistent pattern of oppression is causing widespread insecurity among Palestinian communities.
