Ramallah: Israeli occupation forces have arrested six Palestinians following a raid on the town of Birzeit, located north of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
According to Qatar News Agency, the raid occurred at dawn when the forces stormed into the town, targeting several homes and vandalizing their contents. In addition, they infiltrated Birzeit University from three different entrances, where they detained several security guards and confiscated their mobile phones.
The forces also conducted operations in various towns within the Jenin governorate, engaging in extensive search and arrest activities. Local sources reported that in the town of Ya'bad, infantry units were deployed in the town center, leading to the raiding and searching of multiple homes. Similar operations were carried out in Silat al-Harithiya, west of Jenin, where homes were searched, though no arrests were documented.
In Qabatiya, Israeli military vehicles were seen throughout the streets as they raided residents' homes. Soldiers positioned snipers on the rooftops of several houses, yet no clashes or arrests were reported during this incursion.
Cities, towns, and refugee camps in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem regularly experience such raids and incursions by Israeli forces, which are often accompanied by confrontations, detentions, and the use of live ammunition, rubber-coated bullets, and tear gas against Palestinian youth.
