Doha: Qatari newspaper editorials have prominently featured the recent apology extended to the State of Qatar for the Israeli aggression that targeted the headquarters of the Hamas negotiating delegation in Doha. According to Qatar News Agency, the editorials emphasized a phone call held by HE President of the United States of America Donald Trump with HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and the Israeli Prime Minister. This conversation underscored the strength of Qatar's stance and its firm rejection of any infringement on its sovereignty. The dialogue also highlighted the widespread international support for Qatar's position.
The editorials noted that Doha has consistently affirmed its right to respond to any territorial violations and emphasized its categorical rejection of any breach of its sovereignty. Al-Arab newspaper elaborated on this, pointing out Qatar's regional and international influence as demonstrated by the US President's engagement with Qatari and Israeli leaders. This move is part of US efforts to address the repercussions of the Israeli attack on a residential neighborhood in Doha, which included the Hamas delegation headquarters.
During the call, the Israeli Prime Minister apologized for the attack, which resulted in the death of Qatari citizen Badr Al Dosari. A pledge was made to prevent future targeting of Qatari territory.
