Doha: A person was injured on Monday following an Israeli occupation airstrike targeting a town in southern Lebanon. The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health stated that the individual was wounded in the town of Kfar Shuba in the Hasbaya district after an Israeli drone dropped a bomb on their location.
According to Qatar News Agency, the incident follows another airstrike by the Israeli entity on Sunday, which targeted a different town in southern Lebanon, resulting in the death of one person. These attacks come despite a ceasefire agreement that was put into effect on 27 November last year, which required the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from border villages and towns in southern Lebanon within a 60-day timeframe. Although the Lebanese government agreed to extend this deadline until 18 February, the Israeli occupation army continues to maintain five positions in the area.
The ceasefire agreement has been breached multiple times, with more than 7,000 air violations and over 2,400 military activities reported in the UNIFIL operational area in southern Lebanon since its inception. These ongoing hostilities underscore the fragile nature of the ceasefire and the persistent tensions in the region.
