Israel Escalates Military Actions in Southern Lebanon

Beirut: The Israeli entity continued its attacks on southern Lebanon on Monday. Field sources reported that an Israeli drone was found to have crashed in Al Bayada, while a tank targeted the vicinity of a house on the outskirts of the town of Aitaroun with two shells. Additionally, the Israeli entity's artillery fired flares into the skies of Aita Al Shaab.

According to Qatar News Agency, a ceasefire agreement in southern Lebanon took effect on November 27, 2024, which required the Israeli forces to withdraw from border villages and towns in southern Lebanon within 60 days. However, the Lebanese government later agreed to extend the deadline until February 18, 2020. Despite this, Israeli forces have remained in five locations, continuing their violations, which have included over 7,000 aerial incursions and more than 2,400 military activities within the area of operations of UNIFIL forces in southern Lebanon.
