Baghdad: Iraqi President Dr. Abdullatif Jamal Rashid on Thursday reiterated his country's firm position of supporting the Palestinians to achieve their rights and self-determination by establishing their independent state. During his meeting with Vice President for Strategic Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Iraqi president stressed that his country, which has good relations with neighboring countries and the world, seeks to enhance the chances of peace and bring views closer between regional parties, stressing the importance of maintaining security and stability in the Middle East through constructive dialogue in resolving issues.

According to Qatar News Agency, Zarif noted the important role played by Iran and Iraq in stabilizing the pillars of peace and stability in the Arab and regional areas, reiterating his country's support for Iraq in defending its security and protecting its sovereignty.
