Baghdad: Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani met with Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun to discuss regional developments and the strengthening of bilateral relations between Iraq and Lebanon. The discussions took place in Baghdad, where both leaders emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing regional challenges.
According to Qatar News Agency, Prime Minister Al Sudani reiterated Iraq’s commitment to supporting Lebanon, focusing on strengthening its state institutions. He emphasized Iraq’s stance against any attacks on Lebanon’s sovereignty or foreign interventions that might threaten its sovereign will.
President Aoun, on his part, highlighted Lebanon’s eagerness to expand cooperation with Iraq. He conveyed his appreciation for Iraq’s supportive positions, particularly during the challenging times Lebanon has faced. Aoun acknowledged Iraq’s contributions to enhancing Lebanon’s capacity to tackle ongoing difficulties.
