Iraqi Minister of Trade Highlights Potential for Enhanced Qatari Investments

Doha: HE Minister of Trade of the Republic of Iraq, Atheer Daoud Al Ghurairy, praised Qatari investments in his country, emphasizing Iraq's eagerness to expand Qatari private sector investments across its cities, where numerous investment opportunities exist in various sectors. This was articulated during a meeting with the Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA), led by HE QBA Chairman Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al-Thani.

According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting focused on bilateral cooperation in commercial, investment, and industrial fields and explored ways to enhance these relations. Topics of mutual interest were also discussed. HE Minister Al Ghurairy extended an invitation to QBA members to visit Baghdad to explore potential investment opportunities, asserting Iraq's commitment to fostering economic integration with Qatar.

HE QBA Chairman Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al-Thani commented on the exemplary nature of Qatari-Iraqi relations, highlighted by an increase in exchanged visits aimed at enhancing economic partnerships between Doha and Baghdad.

Additionally, HE QBA Deputy Chairman Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Thani Al-Thani reaffirmed the strong ties between Qatar and Iraq, describing them as a model of constructive cooperation. He noted the leadership of both nations is committed to strengthening strategic ties, particularly in economic sectors, and emphasized the role of the private sector as a cornerstone of economic development.

HE the Deputy Chairman further highlighted that Iraq represents a significant economic market for Qatar, which is why both countries are intensifying cooperation in strategic projects across key sectors such as energy, manufacturing industries, food security, education, logistic services, real estate, and other mutually beneficial areas.
