Iraq Rejects Foreign Interference in Government Formation

Iraq city: Iraq's presidency has firmly rejected any form of foreign interference in the process of forming a new government, describing it as a purely internal and sovereign matter.

According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement issued on Thursday, the presidency emphasized that Iraq's political affairs are decided solely by Iraqis, in accordance with the constitution and the democratic system based on elections.

The statement stressed that respect for national sovereignty is essential to political stability, particularly during the government formation process. This process is based on the results of the parliamentary elections held in November, where voter turnout was described as high.

The presidency also reaffirmed Iraq's commitment to a balanced foreign policy, based on openness, cooperation, and mutual respect. It rejected interference in domestic affairs, while promoting shared interests and regional stability.
