Iraq and France Discuss Military Cooperation in Baghdad

Baghdad: Iraqi Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Abdul Amir Yarallah met on Sunday with French Chief of the Armed Forces Gen. Fabien Mandon to discuss military cooperation between the two countries.

According to Qatar News Agency, Maj. Gen. Tahsin Al Khafaji, Director of Media at the Iraqi Ministry of Defense, emphasized the importance of the French Chief of Staff's visit. He noted that the visit is part of a broader effort to enhance military cooperation, joint coordination, exchange of expertise, and strengthening Iraq's military capabilities.

Al Khafaji also mentioned that four additional Caracal helicopters are expected to arrive in the coming days, which will increase Iraq's fleet to six by the end of this year. He highlighted the operational role of the Caracal helicopters in airdrops, support missions, search and rescue operations, and providing mutual air support.
