Doha: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced today that the Deputy Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will visit Tehran on Monday, noting that no date has been set for the next round of negotiations on the nuclear program. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting, Araqchi said, "The Deputy Director General of the IAEA, Massimo Aparo, will arrive in Tehran tomorrow." He added, "There will be no visit to any site before a framework is reached, and cooperation will not begin. This framework will be based on the Shura Council's law."
According to Qatar News Agency, regarding the re-imposition of sanctions, the Iranian Foreign Minister added, "They raised the issue of re-imposing sanctions, and our position remains clear. In our opinion, it is not appropriate for Europe to do so, and we believe that the Europeans, given their positions, are not considered a party to the nuclear agreement." He continued, "The date for the next round of negotiations has not yet been set."
Referring to the developments in Gaza, Araqchi said that the Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on the matter yesterday; Our position is clear: we do not accept any occupation of Gaza or the displacement of its people, and we condemn it.
