Doha: Qatari international referee Alaa Suleiman will officiate several matches at the Arab U-16 Basketball Championship for junior men's and women's national teams, hosted by Cairo, Egypt, from August 10 to 17, with the participation of elite Arab teams.

According to Qatar News Agency, the tournament's technical committee assigned referee Alaa Suleiman to officiate several matches in both categories, given her high competence and field experience. She delivered a performance that earned praise from attendees and observers, reaffirming the standing of Qatari refereeing in the regional arena.

This participation comes after the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) recently approved Alaa Sulaiman as a member of the international referees list for the period 2025-2027, alongside her colleagues Bandar Al Suwaidi, Youssef Zainal, and Yassin Kashkash. This came after they met all technical standards and passed the internationally approved tests, granting them full eligibility to officiate matches in continental and world championships under FIBA supervision.
