Interior Minister, Chinese Ambassador in Damascus discuss security cooperation

Interior Minister Maj. Gen. Mohammad al-Rahmoun discussed, with Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Damascus, Shi Hongwei, the joint cooperation relations between the two countries and means to enhance them in various fields, particularly in the security field, in addition to combating terrorism and all forms of crime.

Maj. Gen., al-Rahmoun affirmed the keenness of the Interior Ministry to provide all facilities to Chinses citizens residing in Syria and address all issues related to them.

The Minister of Interior voiced thanks to the Chinese government for standing by the Syrian people and leadership in their battle against terrorism.

He highly appreciated the support provided by the Chinese Government to Syria to help address the repercussions of the devastating earthquake that hit the country last February, in addition to providing humanitarian aid to those affected by the quake.

For his part, the Chinese Ambassador in Damascus stressed the depth of the strong relations binding the two friendly countries and his country’s support for Syria.

The Ambassador stressed that his country will continue to provide humanitarian assistance to the Syrian people, calling for enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the security field to eliminate terrorism.
