Doha: The eighth leg of the Qatar Equestrian Tour (Longines Hathab), organized by the Qatar Equestrian Federation in partnership with Al Shaqab (a member of Qatar Foundation), continued Friday at the Longines Arena in Al Shaqab.
According to Qatar News Agency, the results of the second day of the competition saw rider Al Qaqa bin Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani claim first place in the Future Riders round, held at a height of 70 cm, with a time of 49.1 seconds on the horse "Squarini," just 1.1 seconds off the ideal time. He was followed in second place by rider Fahad bin Nasser Al-Thani, achieving a time of 46.81 seconds, 1.19 seconds off the ideal time, on the horse "Delani." In third place was rider Hamad bin Mohammed Al -Thani with a time of 49.34 seconds, 1.34 seconds off the ideal time, on the horse "Malqa." Ahmed Al Badawi, head of the judging committee for the championship, presented the awards to the top three finishers.
In the Open round competition, held at a height of 110 cm, rider Hussein Saeed Haidan secured first place with a time of 24.99 seconds on the horse "Winnenhof." He was followed in second place by rider Abdullah bin Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani with a time of 25.01 seconds on the horse "Cassandra," and in third place by rider Yaqoub Nasser Al Mas with a time of 25.03 seconds on the horse "Equinox."
In the Junior category, rider Abdullah bin Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani achieved both first and third place with times of 25.01 seconds and 26.14 seconds on the horses "Cassandra" and "Horovents," respectively. Rider Abdullah Faisal Al Mana came in second place with a time of 25.18 seconds on the horse "Barouq." The winners of both the Open round and the Junior category were crowned by Mr. Mohammed Saleh Al Marri, Head of the Facilities and Logistics Committee for the Championship.
In the 140cm Golden Round competition, rider Rashid Tuwaim Al Marri secured first place with a time of 32.11 seconds on the horse "Navarone." Rider Mohammed Khalifa Al Baker came in second with a time of 32.63 seconds on "Dukhan 3," while rider Sirine Sharif finished third with a time of 33.07 seconds on the horse "Kalamandou." In the team competition of the same round, Team Ajwad took first place with a total time of 65.18 seconds, followed by Team Lekhwiya with a total time of 70.78 seconds. Team Al Shaqab came in third with a total time of 71.01 seconds. The winners of the Golden Round were crowned by the tournament director Abdullah Al Marri.
