Doha: Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh announced that India is collaborating with a French company to produce fighter jet engines domestically. He said that India is moving forward with plans to manufacture aircraft engines and confirmed that cooperation with a French company is underway to begin production inside the country.
According to Qatar News Agency, although Singh did not name the company, Indian media reported that it is Safran, which has been active in India aviation and defense sectors for decades. The defense minister pledged that contracts worth $100 billion will be awarded by 2033 to encourage local production of military equipment, aiming to strengthen India defense industry.
