His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today attended the World Endurance Championship which was held at the Boudheeb Global Endurance Ville in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates.
The 160-kilometre race was held under the patronage of UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Presidency Court Minister His Highness Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa led the Royal Endurance Team to the championship which was organized byu the International Endurance Federation.
HM the King watched the World Endurance Championship which saw the participation of jockeys from Bahrain alongside 126 other contenders representing 36 countries.
HM the King hailed the strength of historic relations binding the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, praising the outstanding organization which reflects the UAE’s world standing and reputation in hosting major sporting events.
HM the King congratulated HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa on winning the race and claiming the trophy, expressing pride in the global historic achievements which further enriches HH Shaikh Nasser’s record of victories.
HM the King praised HH Shaikh Nasser’s outstanding performance, which enabled him to win the championship, reflecting the standing of the endurance sport in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
HM the King noted that the endurance sport is deeply-rooted in the history and heritage of the region, stressing keenness to further support and develop the sport.
