HH the Amir Hosts Dinner Banquet for US President Trump at Lusail Palace

Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani held an official dinner banquet in honor of HE President of the United States of America Donald Trump and his accompanying delegation at Lusail Palace on Wednesday.

According to Qatar News Agency, during the banquet, HH the Amir delivered a speech welcoming HE the US President and the delegation, highlighting the ever-growing relations between Qatar and the United States aimed at serving the interests of their peoples. He emphasized the strong cooperation between the two nations, particularly in the energy sector, mentioning the Golden Pass Project for Qatari liquefied natural gas set to launch in the US during President Trump's term. This project, along with the Golden Triangle Project, aims to supply America and other countries with liquefied gas.

HH the Amir also highlighted significant Qatari investments in the US across various sectors including technology, artificial intelligence, and hospitality. He underlined the mutual commitment of Qatar and the US to establish peace globally, mentioning joint diplomatic efforts to cease hostilities in the Gaza Strip and protect civilians, while ensuring the release of all hostages.

In his speech, President Donald Trump thanked HH the Amir for the hospitality and expressed his delight at being the first American president to visit Qatar. He praised HH the Amir's role in Qatar's development and recognized Qatar's support in the Palestinian issue, as well as its potential role in negotiations with Iran. Trump also expressed interest in learning from Qatar's experience in hosting the World Cup for the upcoming 2026 event.

The event was attended by HH Consort of HH the Amir Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al-Thani, HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, and several ministers, Sheikhs, dignitaries, senior state officials, and businessmen.
