Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani held a meeting at the Amiri Diwan with HE Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of the Republic of Sudan, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al Burhan. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations and addressing regional developments to foster peace and stability.
According to Qatar News Agency, HH the Amir welcomed Lieutenant General Al Burhan and his delegation, expressing gratitude for their participation in the Arab-Islamic Emergency Summit. The visit underscores the deep-rooted brotherly ties between Qatar and Sudan.
Lieutenant General Al Burhan emphasized Sudan’s unwavering support for Qatar, condemning the recent Israeli attacks as a violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and international laws. He praised Qatar’s efforts, led by HH the Amir, in promoting regional and global peace.
HH the Amir expressed appreciation for Sudan’s solidarity and supportive stance towards Qatar. The meeting included discussions on shared regional and international concerns, with a focus on the Middle East and Sudan’s current situation.
Senior officials from both nations, including HE Chief of the Amiri Diwan Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi and HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, attended the meeting. The Sudanese delegation was represented by HE Minister of Foreign Affairs Muhi Al Din Salem and other high-ranking officials.
