Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani received a phone call from HE President of the Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday to discuss regional developments, particularly the recent announcement of a ceasefire between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to Qatar News Agency, the call emphasized the significance of the ceasefire as an opportunity to achieve lasting peace and stability in the region. HE the President expressed his views that this development is a crucial step toward resolving ongoing tensions.
HE the President also reiterated to HH the Amir his condemnation of the Iranian attacks on the State of Qatar, while acknowledging Qatar's prudent approach in handling these developments. He extended Turkiye's appreciation for Qatar's diplomatic efforts.
HH the Amir, in response, expressed his gratitude to HE the Turkish President for his supportive sentiments. He affirmed Qatar's dedication to bolstering regional and international efforts aimed at de-escalation and promoting security and stability across the region.
