HH The Amir and Jordan’s King Discuss Bilateral Ties and Regional Stability

Amman: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HM King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan engaged in an official session of talks, focusing on strengthening the fraternal relations between Qatar and Jordan and addressing regional developments.

According to Qatar News Agency, the session took place at Basman Palace in Amman, Jordan, where HM the King warmly welcomed HH the Amir and his delegation. His Majesty emphasized the positive impact of HH the Amir's visit and expressed hope for enhanced cooperation between the two nations. King Abdullah II reiterated Jordan's unwavering support for Qatar's sovereignty and territorial integrity amidst the recent Israeli attack, praising Qatar's efforts in promoting regional and international peace.

HH the Amir conveyed his gratitude to HM the King for the hospitality extended to him and his delegation, underscoring the importance of strengthening the bilateral partnership across various sectors. He also expressed appreciation for Jordan's solidarity with Qatar during the crisis, affirming Qatar's commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty.

The discussions highlighted the progress in relations between Qatar and Jordan, with a focus on economic and investment cooperation. The leaders also addressed regional and international issues, particularly the Palestinian cause, advocating for political solutions to ensure regional security and stability.

The session was attended by key officials from both nations, including Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, and Jordan's Prime Minister, HE Dr. Jaafar Hassan, among others.

Prior to the talks, HH the Amir and HM the King held a bilateral meeting to discuss issues of mutual interest. During a ceremony at Basman Palace, HH the Amir was honored with the Order of Al Hussein bin Ali, Jordan's highest accolade for heads of state. The visit concluded with a luncheon banquet hosted by HM the King in honor of HH the Amir and his delegation.
