Beirut: Israeli warplanes launched a series of intense airstrikes on Thursday targeting a number of towns in southern Lebanon, resulting in deaths, injuries, and damage to the targeted areas, coinciding with artillery shelling and machine gun fire.
According to Qatar News Agency, Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA) said that the airstrike that targeted the town of Ma'raka resulted in the death of three people and the injury of a number of members of a family that had been displaced to the town. Israeli warplanes launched additional airstrikes on the towns of Siddiqin and Qalila, south of Tyre, and targeted the area between Tibnin and Safad al-Batikh. The towns of Kafr Rumman, Kafr Tibnit, Toul, Harouf, and Konin were subjected to a series of violent airstrikes.
In turn, Nabatieh was subjected to an airstrike, and the town of Khiam in the Marjeyoun district faced heavy artillery shelling, coinciding with the Israeli army carrying out a large-scale combing operation with machine guns in the border town of Kfarkela.
In a related context, the Israeli army warned residents of several neighborhoods in Beirut's southern suburbs, including Burj Al Barajneh and Hadath, advising them to head east towards Mount Lebanon via the Beirut-Damascus axis. It then renewed its demand for residents of Haret Hreik and Chiyah to move north towards Tripoli via the Beirut-Tripoli axis or east towards Mount Lebanon via the Metn Expressway.
The Israeli occupation army continues to target various areas of Lebanon in conjunction with its war against Iran.
