Gulf Cooperation Council Commends Qatar and US for Role in Rwanda-DRC Peace Agreement

Riyadh: The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has expressed appreciation for the efforts made by Qatar and the United States in facilitating the peace agreement between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The GCC welcomed the signing of the agreement, highlighting its potential to end tensions and meet the aspirations of both nations for security and stability.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, the Secretary-General of the GCC, emphasized the hope that this agreement would support prosperity and development in the region. He also noted that it could enhance opportunities for both regional and international security and peace.

Al-Budaiwi further highlighted the positive and growing role of GCC countries in supporting peaceful solutions worldwide. He reiterated the GCC's commitment to using diplomacy and dialogue as primary tools to address international and regional crises and achieve sustainable development.
