Doha: Google announced the launch of a new AI-powered feature on YouTube that provides visual summaries of videos, similar to the recently introduced AI Overviews in Google Search.

According to Qatar News Agency, the new feature is currently being tested with a limited number of YouTube Premium subscribers in the United States. It utilizes Google's Gemini AI to highlight selected video segments relevant to users' search queries, particularly for topics like product reviews or travel destinations.

In a post on the YouTube Community Forum, the company explained that the feature uses AI to identify the most helpful parts of videos that match your search, such as when looking for the best noise-canceling headphones or top museums in San Francisco.

Google has not yet disclosed how long the trial phase will last or whether the feature will be rolled out more widely in the future.
