Doha: Google has announced the resumption of its advertising services in Syria, allowing Syrians to benefit from these services for the first time since 2011.
According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement on Sunday, the firm clarified that it has removed Syria from its list of restricted regions, enabling the resumption of operations across three major platforms: Google Ads, Ad Exchange, and Ad Manager.
Syrian publishers and advertisers will undergo a manual verification process, including submitting official documents and proving their identity to recover their accounts. The firm's global policies will apply in the Syrian market, including restrictions on misleading or inappropriate content, the statement read.
The move came after the US revoked the comprehensive sanctions program against Syria in early July 2025, thereby opening the opportunity for major global firms to tap in, primarily technology companies, to reconsider their activities and services across the nation.
