Doha: Gold prices rose in trading, heading toward weekly gains, supported by a wave of buying and a decline in the US dollar. Spot gold climbed 3.9 percent to $4,954.92 per ounce, while US gold futures rose 1.8 percent to $4,979.80 per ounce. According to Qatar News Agency, spot silver prices jumped 8.6 percent to $77.33 per ounce. Platinum rose about 5.4 percent to $2,093.50 per ounce, while palladium gained nearly 7 percent to $1,737.01 per ounce.
