Member states expressed their willingness to mobilize all available resources to support Qatar and defend its sovereignty, stability, and security against threats. In response, the leaders instructed the GCC Joint Defence Council to hold an urgent meeting in Doha to assess the region’s defense posture. The newspaper reported that QatarEnergy has signed an agreement with Samsung C and T’s Engineering and Construction Group to build a world-class solar power plant in the Dukhan area. The project, one of the largest globally, will be developed in two phases, aiming for a total production capacity of 2,000 megawatts by mid-2029. This initiative aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030’s environmental and energy goals.
Al-Arab concluded by highlighting the project’s significance in doubling Qatar’s solar energy capacity, contributing to over 4,000 megawatts of renewable energy by 2030.
