GCC Summit to Address Israeli Aggression and Regional Security Issues.

Doha: The 45th session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is set to commence at the summit level, amidst increasing challenges in the region, notably the ongoing Israeli atrocities against the Palestinian people. The summit aims to address pressing issues, including the continuous Israeli aggression, violations, and crimes, while urging the international community to fulfill its responsibilities in ending the aggression in Palestine. In addition to discussing regional security challenges, the GCC leadership will focus on economic matters and strategies to foster Gulf development and achieve further accomplishments. According to Qatar News Agency, English-language newspaper The Peninsula emphasized that the GCC has made significant strides over the past decades in strengthening its structure and aligning its goals with the aspirations of Gulf citizens. This includes the establishment of the Gulf Common Market as a pivotal achievement. Meanwhile, Al Sharq newspaper highlighted HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's message on International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, underscoring Qatar's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause in regional and international forums. The message called attention to the severe hardships endured by the Palestinian people, including collective punishment and genocidal war, affecting civilians, infrastructure, and humanitarian workers. Concluding its editorial, Al Sharq reiterated that violence does not bring about peace, security, or stability and emphasized the necessity of implementing international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative to achieve a just and lasting peace. Al Watan newspaper echoed similar sentiments, stressing the importance of the two-state solution and establishing a sovereign Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. HH the Amir's message also criticized the international community's failure to halt the bloodshed and its double standards in enforcing internatio nal laws, warning that such failures lead to impunity and loss of confidence in the international system.
