Doha: GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi met Thursday in Washington with Chairman of the US House Foreign Affairs Committee Brian Mast. The agenda included topics of common interest, primarily boosting GCC-US relations across all fields within the framework of the strategic partnership and the latest regional and international developments, particularly the situation in Gaza.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Secretary-General stressed the need to intensify international efforts to achieve a ceasefire and implement all relevant UN and international resolutions to protect the Palestinian people and enable them to obtain all their legitimate rights.

The meeting reviewed joint GCC-US efforts on numerous regional and international issues, and emphasized the importance of moving forward with them to enhance security and stability regionally and globally.
