Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi denounced the statement by an Israeli occupation government’s minister calling for the establishment of a Jewish synagogue inside the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, emphasizing the Israeli occupation’s intention to continue to fuel the situation and destabilizing the region.
The GCC chief stressed the need to respect Islamic sanctities and stop attempts to Judaize Al-Aqsa Mosque, and called on the international community to take urgent action and bear its responsibilities to stop these violations.
He emphasized the GCC states’ firm position on the Palestinian issue as Arabs and Muslims’ first cause, and on supporting the independent Palestinian state within the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
