Ramallah: GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi has discussed the latest developments in Yemen and efforts to support peace and stability during a telephone call with the country’s prime minister Dr Shaea Al Zandani. The talks focused on the situation in Yemen and the wider region, as well as ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening security, stability, and development.
According to Qatar News Agency, the two sides also reviewed relations between the GCC and Yemen, and explored ways to enhance cooperation and coordination. Al Budaiwi reaffirmed the GCC’s “firm and supportive position” towards efforts to achieve security and stability in Yemen. He stressed the council’s continued backing for humanitarian and relief initiatives designed to ease the suffering of the Yemeni people, in coordination with regional and international partners.
