French Foreign Minister Reiterates France’s Full Solidarity with Lebanon

Paris: French Minister for Foreign Affairs Jean-Noel Barrot reiterated France's solidarity and enduring commitment to respecting Lebanon's full sovereignty. He emphasized that Paris supports direct negotiations as the only viable path to achieve a lasting and sustainable resolution to the ongoing crisis.

According to Qatar News Agency, Barrot informed Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Raji that France will advocate for an emergency session of the UN Security Council. This call comes in response to the relentless Israeli escalation in Lebanon, including the expansion of military operations and evacuation directives, as highlighted by the Lebanese Foreign Ministry in a statement.

Israel has intensified its military activities in southern Lebanon through aerial offensives and has expanded its ground incursion into various southern villages and towns. This escalation has culminated in the seizure of Beaufort Castle and has raised concerns about the potential deterioration of the humanitarian and security situation in the region.
