Baghdad: At least four Iraqi officers were killed, and five others injured in a landmine explosion north of Baghdad.
According to Qatar News Agency, a security source reported that military forces had received confirmed intelligence about the presence of ISIS remnants in Tarmiyah district, north of the capital. However, a landmine detonated as the forces approached, killing four officers and injuring five others with varying degrees of severity.
The source added that military reinforcements were sent to the area to recover bodies and evacuate injured, while also conducting a search operation at the site of the blast.
Iraqi forces continue their efforts to track down ISIS remnants across the country, particularly in northern and western regions, as well as in Baghdad.
