Football: Qatar Beat Brunei 13-0 to Top AFC U-23 Cup Qualifiers Group


Doha: The Qatari national team defeated Brunei in the opening round of Group H of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers, held at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium. Qatar’s goals were scored by Mostafa Al Sayed who scored four goals in the 4th, 22nd, 54th, and 57th minutes, Noureddine Ibrahim who bagged a brace in the 55th and 90+4th minutes; and Marwan Bramil who also scored two goals, in the 68th and 83rd minutes. The remaining goals were scored by Jassim Al Sharshani, Mubarak Shanan (penalty), Mohammed Siraj, Al Hashimi Al Hussain, and Abdulaziz Mohammed in the 6th, 11th, 13th, 20th, and 34th minutes respectively.



According to Qatar News Agency, the victory sees the Qatari Olympic team top the group with three points, leading on goal difference over India, who sit second after beating Bahrain 2-0.
