Doha: PSG won the 2024-2025 UEFA Super Cup after defeating Tottenham Hotspur 4-3 on penalties, following a 2-2 draw in regular time at the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine, Italy. According to Qatar News Agency, Tottenham opened the scoring through Dutch defender Micky van de Ven in the 39th minute, before Argentine defender Cristian Romero doubled the lead in the 48th minute with an assist from teammate Pedro Porro. PSG pulled one back through Lee Kang-in in the 85th minute, and Goncalo Ramos equalized in the fourth minute of stoppage time, sending the match to penalties, where the Parisian club prevailed. This victory made PSG the first French club to win this competition. In the shootout, Ramos, Ousmane Dembele, Lee Kang-in, and Nuno Mendes scored for PSG, while Dominic Solanke, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Pedro Porro converted for Tottenham. PSG had earlier won the UEFA Champions League for the first time in its history with a 5-0 victory over Inter Milan, while Tottenham captured the UEFA Europa League title ag ainst fellow English side Manchester United.
