Afghanistan: Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority announced that the death toll from widespread floods, landslides, and lightning caused by heavy rains and storms has risen to 77 fatalities and 137 injuries over the past ten days across various parts of the country.

According to Qatar News Agency, the authority said more rainfall is expected in the coming days in several regions of Afghanistan, urging citizens to stay away from riverbanks and flood-prone areas.

A spokesperson for Afghanistan's caretaker government reported that four people remain missing, while rescue operations and damage assessments continue following days of heavy rainfall and severe flooding in many provinces.

He added that the recent storms and floods caused complete or partial damage to 2,448 homes, destroyed more than 5,000 hectares of agricultural land, and led to the death of over 1,000 livestock, highlighting the scale of humanitarian and agricultural losses.
