Five Qatari Artists Showcase Work at Empower Her Art Forum in Grand Egyptian Museum

Cairo: Five Qatari female artists are participating in the third edition of the Empower Her Art Forum, hosted at the Grand Egyptian Museum. The event, running from May 16 to 20, brings together 200 female artists representing over 35 countries worldwide.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari artists-Hanadi Al Darwish, Haifa Alkhuzaei, Wadha Al Sulaiti, Suad Al Salem, and Maryam Al Mousa-are showcasing works that exemplify the depth and variety of Qatari art. Their participation underscores the significant and expanding role of women in the cultural and artistic spheres, aligning with Qatar's commitment to using art as a medium for empowerment, cultural dialogue, and fostering international connections.

Wadha Al Sulaiti expressed that the forum marks a pioneering participation for Qatari artists, with their work drawing inspiration from Qatari heritage and spotlighting the contributions of Qatari women. She acknowledged the warm reception and interest from the Egyptian hosts during the forum.

Suad Al Salem shared with QNA that her contributions include a series of paintings created through wood engraving, focusing on women's experiences and the challenges they face. She emphasized that participating in the forum offers a valuable platform for cultural exchange and collaboration with fellow artists from around the globe.

The forum also features seminars and lectures on the evolution of modern art, workshops led by female artists, and a special focus on the artistic endeavors of people with disabilities.
