Five Killed in Helicopter Crash During Relief Mission Northwest Pakistan

Bajaur: Five people were killed Friday in a helicopter crash during a relief mission for those affected by monsoon rains in northwest Pakistan. Local authorities in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province confirmed that their Mi-17 helicopter crashed due to bad weather while delivering relief supplies to areas affected by the rains in Bajaur Agency, bordering Afghanistan.

According to Qatar News Agency, all five crew members were killed, the authorities added. Rescue and relief teams have been dispatched to the site of the accident.

This accident comes as the provincial government continues to grapple with heavy monsoon rains that have caused flooding in the districts of Swat, Buner, Bajaur, and Bhubaneswar. According to the latest official figures, 60 people have so far been killed.
