Doha: The Ministry of Labour on Monday swore in its first cohort of inspectors specialized in monitoring the implementation of Law No. (12) of 2024 on the Nationalisation of Jobs in the Private Sector. The ceremony, held under the supervision of HE Minister of Labour Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri, formally granted the inspectors judicial enforcement authority.
According to Qatar News Agency, the newly appointed inspectors will monitor private sector establishments, ensuring compliance with the law and taking corrective action where necessary. The move forms part of the ministry's strategy to promote fair and stable employment opportunities for Qatari nationals and to strengthen the efficiency and balance of the labour market.
This initiative supports the Third National Development Strategy and aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030, particularly its human development pillar, which aims to build an effective and highly productive national workforce. Inspectors will carry out regular field visits to companies, verifying compliance and helping to create professional, motivating work environments for Qatari employees.
Law No. (12) is designed to expand the participation of national talent in the private sector, provide sustainable and high-quality employment opportunities, and develop skills to meet market needs. It also enhances companies' capacity to attract and retain Qatari employees, safeguard job stability, and support career development, while encouraging private sector employers to increase their employment of national talent.
Through this step, the ministry seeks to embed a culture of compliance and foster a cooperative and transparent partnership with the private sector.
