London, A fire broke out on Saturday in a historic building in the center of London, known as Somerset House, which houses some famous and rare artworks.
In a statement, the London Fire Brigade said that 25 fire engines were dispatched to the scene to extinguish the blaze, along with 25 firefighters, tackling the flames engulfing part of the buildings roof, noting that the cause of the fire is still unknown.
For its part, the police announced that there were no reports of injuries.
Located on the banks of the River Thames, Somerset House dates back to 1547 and was formerly a royal palace. It is now a cultural and entertainment center.
