Doha: The line-up of the Round of 16 of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025 is set, as the Round of 32 concluded. The Round of 16 features seven European teams, four African teams, three Asian teams, in addition to one team from South America and one from CONCACAF. According to Qatar News Agency, five matches resorted to penalty shootouts due to deadlocks, with Brazil, Morocco, Uzbekistan, Mexico, and Ireland qualifying via penalties. The tournament saw the early exit of the defending champions, Germany, in addition to Argentina and Belgium. Morocco remains the only Arab team left, following Egypt and Tunisia's elimination in the Round of 32, while Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE were knocked out earlier in the Group Stage. The 16 matches of the Round of 32 resulted in 37 goals, with an average of 2.3 goals per match. Brazil, the four-time champions, were the only team to reach the Round of 16 without scoring a goal in the Round of 32, after drawing 0-0 with Paraguay before advancing with a 5-4 win on penal ties. Thus far, 88 matches have been played, 72 in the Group Stage and 16 in the Round of 32, resulting in 69 wins and 19 draws, with a total of 287 goals scored. A total of 33 penalty kicks have been awarded, with 21 converted and 12 missed. Moreover, 269 yellow cards and 23 red cards have been received.
