Doha: Sudan's Head Coach Kwesi Appiah said that his team is aiming for a strong start in the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 as it prepares to face Algeria tomorrow, Wednesday, in the first round of Group D.

According to Qatar News Agency, speaking at the pre-match press conference, Appiah said that the team is looking to start strong, praising Algeria as one of the strongest teams in the tournament. He added that the tournament features strong teams and that this was one of the big challenges facing his side. He maintained, however, that his players were ready to rise to the challenge, starting with a positive result against Algeria.

He stressed that matches like the one against Algeria represent a true test of the team's ambitions and an opportunity to demonstrate their progress in performance and the players' fighting spirit on the field.

He also said that mental and technical preparation were one of the main challenges for this competition.
