Beirut: European stock indices closed mixed Thursday, coinciding with the European Central Bank's decision to hold interest rates steady. The pan-European Stoxx 600 index fell 0.13 percent to close at 574.64 points.
According to Qatar News Agency, the UK's FTSE 100 index rose 0.4 percent to close at 9,760.06 points. Meanwhile, the French CAC 40 index declined 0.53 percent to 8,157.29 points, while the German DAX index edged up 0.06 percent.
The European Central Bank (ECB) kept interest rates unchanged at 2 percent, stating that its decision followed the Governing Council's assessment that inflation expectations remained broadly unchanged.
