European Stocks Close Mixed After Trump’s Davos Speech

Doha: European stocks closed mixed on Wednesday following US President Donald Trump's speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, amid expectations of a trade war between the European Union and the United States. The pan-European Stoxx 600 index closed at 602.8 points, a slight increase of 0.01 percent.

According to Qatar News Agency, the French CAC 40 index rose 0.08 percent to close at 8,069 points. The British FTSE 100 index climbed 0.11 percent to 10,138 points. Meanwhile, the German DAX index fell 0.51 percent to 24,577 points.
