European Stock Markets Show Mixed Opening Ahead of Federal Reserve Meeting

Doha: European stock indexes opened mixed on Wednesday, showing little movement ahead of the release of the US Federal Reserve's monetary policy meeting results. The pan-European STOXX 600 index edged up slightly by 0.05 percent, reaching 636.29 points.

According to Qatar News Agency, Germany's DAX index in Frankfurt experienced a decline of 0.35 percent. Meanwhile, France's CAC 40 index in Paris remained flat, showing a minimal change of 0.05 percent. In contrast, Britain's FTSE 100 in London saw a modest rise of 0.10 percent, and Italy's FTSE MIB in Milan gained 0.19 percent.

The automobiles and parts sector index led the losses, falling by 2.3 percent, with BMW shares experiencing a significant drop of 7.3 percent. Conversely, shares of Leonardo saw an increase of 1.7 percent.
