Paris:European stock markets experienced an uptick at the opening on Monday, buoyed by a drop in oil prices after an energy truce was announced by US President Donald Trump between Russia and Ukraine.

According to Qatar News Agency, France's CAC 40 index on the Paris Stock Exchange increased by 0.31 percent, and Germany's DAX index in Frankfurt rose by 0.32 percent.

In addition, the UK's FTSE 100 index in London saw a rise of 0.50 percent, while Italy's FTSE MIB index in Milan climbed by 0.71 percent.
